Almost Completed, Palembang LRT Road Has Reached 90 Percent

INDUSTRY.co.id - Jakarta - The progress of the overpass of Simpang Keramasan and Simpang Bandara - Tanjung Api Api has reached 90 percent. The project is expected to be a supporter of the Asian Games in August 2018.

"For South Sumatera LRT I have to say that for the construction of the own kite infrastructure almost completely finished," said Director General of Railways Zulfikri in Jakarta, Thursday (22/2/2018).

Thus, Zulfikri said, the temporary suspension of the Palembang LRT overpass project could be revoked by the PUPR Ministry. Therefore, the work of the overpass is just finalization.

"Since this is already the kite structure and from the PUPR Ministry has also mentioned which criteria are moratorium, I think LRT South Sumatra is not included in that," said Zulfikri.

Previously, the Government decided to temporarily halt some infrastructure project work that is above the elevated. This temporary termination is the impact of infrastructure accidents that occurred some time ago.

Minister of Public Works and People's Housing Basuki Hadimuljono emphasized that this temporary suspension will also apply to infrastructure related to the 2018 Asian Games.

Basuki said the infrastructure projects related to the Asian Games 2018 include Light Rail Transit (LRT), Mass Rapid Transit (MRT), to a number of toll and highway projects in Jakarta and Palembang.

According to him, the evaluation of the projects could be completed within one week. After the evaluation is complete, project work can proceed. Targeted projects can be completed before the Asian Games in August 2018.

"LRT Palembang and here we will prioritize first (evaluation), because ahead of the Asian Games, MRT as well," said Basuki.
