INDUSTRY.co.id - Jakarta - Indonesia again gained the trust of the international public by being elected to host the 71st IIW Annual Assembly & International Conference 2018 (IIW 2018).

This event is an annual program of International Institute of Welding (IIW) that brings together the perpetrators of the welding industry worldwide.

IIW 2018 will be held on 15 - 20 July 2018 at Bali Nusa Dua Convention Center, Bali. The theme raised at IIW 2018 this time is Advanced Welding and Smart Fabrication Technologies for Efficient Manufacturing Processes.

The election of Indonesia is also a recognition of the ability of the Indonesian welding industry in the eyes of the world.

"This is a good opportunity to introduce the capabilities of Indonesian welders to the eyes of the world while demonstrating the development of our welding industry to the international public," said Achdiat Atmawinata, President of the Indonesian Welding Association (API), through an official statement received by INDUSTRY.co.id on Tuesday 6/3/2018).

API is an organization that oversees all workers, institutions, industries or companies engaged in welding. "Indonesian welders have long been known as one of the best, or even the best, in the world," said Achdiat.

Achdiat said that the election of Bali as a venue shows the international public's confidence in the security conditions in Bali amid fears of Mount Agung eruption.

He stated that the committee keeps coordinating with related bodies to ensure the smoothness of the event and the comfort of the delegates of IIW 2018 participants. The committee has also prepared a fairly comprehensive contingency plan.

IIW 2018 will present speakers from around the world to discuss the latest technologies and trends in the welding field.

In addition to the Annual Assembly, IIW 2018 will also organize an international conference as a forum to network and exchange knowledge among the welding industry players.

Some topics to be discussed at the conference sessions include: Advanced Welding Processes and Technologies, Welding Automation and Simulations, Design and Fabrication, Inspection and Quality Assurance of Welded Products, Corrosion and Surface Protection of Welding, Personnel Development and Qualifications, Business Aspect of Welding , Special Sessions in Maritime, and Transportation and Offshore Industries.

Currently, the committee still opens the opportunity for the participants / potential speakers to submit their papers related to the welding industry, especially related to the above areas.

According Achdiat job opportunities in the field of welding is still very wide open. There are many domestic and foreign companies looking for qualified welding experts. In Indonesia alone the industrial sector is estimated to require 5 thousand welders each year. Efforts to increase the number and quality of welding workers in Indonesia continue to be done by the government and related organizations.
