Korean Investors Interested in Transportation Industry in North Sumatra

INDUSTRY.co.id - Medan- Korea Rail Network Authority is interested and interested to cooperate with North Sumatera Provincial Government to build mass transportation industry in that area.
General Manager of Korea Rail Network Authority Division Dae-Geun Park in Medan, Wednesday (14/3/2018) said the company was interested in investing in North Sumatra because it sees the potential of a large economy in the area.
He said that when he was in audience to the North Sumatra Provincial Government received by North Sumatra Secretary, Ibnu Hutomo.
With a well-developed economy and including a large population, he said, North Sumatra like other developed areas requires mass transportation.
Therefore, said Dae Geun Park, KRNA which is one of the state-owned enterprises in Korea that is engaged in mass transportation such as Light Rapid Transportation and Bus Rapid Transportation and construction, willing to invest in North Sumatra.
"Management is ready to cooperate with the Government of North Sumatra Province to build mass transportation," he said.
The strong desire to invest in North Sumatra also remember the Indonesian Government is also seen being aggressively build transportation infrastructure such as railways.
North Sumatra Provincial Secretary, Ibnu S Hutomo, stated that the North Sumatera Provincial Government is interested in offering investment cooperation in mass transportation development projects, especially railways.
"The North Sumatra provincial government is eager to have a train that can connect Medan or from Pematangsiantar to Parapat, Lake Toba and Pematang Siantar-Parapat- Silangit Airport, North Tapanuli.
Today, he said, PT Kereta Api Indonesia still only has a path up to Pematang Siantar.
In fact, he said, to accelerate the increase in foreign tourist visits to Lake Toba which has been developed the Central Government needs transportation support.
In addition to the Lake Toba region, he said, the North Sumatra provincial government wants to have the development of urban trains in North Sumatra as it connects the area of Medan-Binjai-Deliserdang-Karo.
