Toll Road Ngawi-Kertosono Officially Operate With The Most Expensive Rate Rp48.000

INDUSTRY.co.id - Madiun - Ngawi-Kertosono Toll Road Project on the 49.5 kilometer long road, on Thursday (29/3/2018) afternoon, officially operates with tariff reduction in accordance with the direction of the President.

Desi Arryani, President Director of PT Jasa Marga Desi Arryani said that the toll road segment is not subject to tariffs during the socialization period until April 9, 2018. Furthermore, toll road tariffs charged at Rp1,000 per km are awaiting decree from the Minister of PUPR.

"The tariff should have been regulated, but not yet exit, the tariff is Rp 1,000 per kilometer, Rp1,200 per kilometer," said Desi after the inauguration of the Ngawi-Wilangan section at the Madiun Toll Gate.

There was also previously under the Toll Road Concession Agreement (PPJT) between the business entity and the government, the 49.5 km Ngawi-Wilangan toll road tariff initially amounted to Rp1,200 per km.

However, after the enactment of tariff harmonization of Rp 1,000 per km, the most expensive tariff for Ngawi-Wilangan's farthest distance of Rp 48,000 (for Group I) decreased 16.5 percent from Rp57,500 in the previous Rp1,200 per km.

There is also BUJT Toll Road Ngawi-Kertosono is a subsidiary of PT Jasa Marga (Persero) Tbk, namely PT Ngawi Kertosono Jaya (NKJ).

The Ngawi-Wilangan Toll Road is built by PT NKJ, which includes Section I Ngawi-Simpang Susun (SS) Madiun (20 Km), Section II SS Madiun-SS Caruban (8.45 Km) and SS Caruban-Wilangan (21.06 Km ).

The remaining 37.5 km is constructed by the PUPR Ministry as part of the Viability Gap Funding (VGF) of the Ngawi-Kertosono Toll Road, and once completed it will be operated by PT NKJ.

Toll Road Ngawi-Kertosono built with total investment Rp9, 73 trillion. This toll road will have four toll gates (GT), namely GT Ngawi, GT Madiun, GT Caruban, GT Nganjuk, and GT Wilangan (temporary). The four GTs only serve non-cash transactions.

In addition, to improve services to road users, there are six 'rest areas' along the Ngawi-Kertosono Toll Road, four of which are located in the Ngawi-Wilangan Section, and the other two rest areas are located in the Wilangan-Kertosono Section.

Toll road users can enjoy the Ngawi-Kertosono Toll Road, the Ngawi-Wilangan Road for free during the socialization period, from March 31 to April 9, 2018.

If it is operated, Toll Road Ngawi Kertosono Ruas Ngawi-Wilangan can cut logistics costs because the distribution of goods between these two cities to be faster.

Road users when using the Ngawi-Wilangan arterial road takes 1.5 hours, but when passing the highway only takes about 35-40 minutes.

With the operation of this toll road, it will further add to the long list of Trans Java Toll Road development that extends from Merak to Banyuwangi.

This is also a strong proof of Jasa Marga's commitment in realizing regional connectivity through toll road development, as well as encouraging economic growth especially in the area around toll roads.

The inauguration of the Ngawi-Wilangan toll road was conducted by President Joko Widodo accompanied by Finance Minister Sri Mulyani, Minister of PUPR Basuki Hadimuljono, East Java Governor Soekarwo, President Director of PT Jasa Marga Desi Arryani, Head of BPJT Herry Trisaputra Zuna, Operations Director II PT Waskita Karya Nyoman Wirya Adnyana and President Director of PT Ngawi Kertosono Jaya Iwan Moedyarno.
