Anticipating the Increase in Number of Passengers, PT KAI Prepare Additional Trains

INDUSTRY.co.id - Surabaya - Facing a long holiday, PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) Operation Area 8 Surabaya extended the series of three trains and prepared the Additional Train.

Public Relations Manager of PT KAI Daop 8 Gatut Sutiyatmoko said the extension of the railway line is done in anticipation of the increasing number of passengers who depart from Daop 8 Surabaya area station.

"Some of the steps we have taken to extend the railway line and operate an additional train, this is in anticipation of long holidays," Gatut said in Surabaya on Friday (30/3/2018).

The three KAs extended in each series are KA Sancaka Pagi relation Surabaya Gubeng-Yogyakarta with the initial number of 490 seats and added 80 to 570 seats.

Then KA Gajayana relation Malang-Gambir with the initial number of 400 seats, plus 50 places to 450 seats. And KA Jayabaya relation Malang-Pasar Senen from 640 seats, plus 80 to 720 seats.

For the Additional Train, Gatut said, will operate the Sancaka KA Additional relation Surabaya Gubeng-Yogyakarta with a series of 8 executive train with a total capacity of 400 seats.

"This additional Sancaka KA operates on Saturday, (31/3/2018) with the departure schedule from Surabaya Gubeng Station at 18:15 pm," he said.

For ticket reservations can be made at the station, and can purchase tickets through the pages kai.id, KAI Access applications, Contact Center 121, Alfamart and Indomaret outlets, as well as partner agents KAI, or through ticket booking engine in the station.

"We hope that with the extension of the series and additional railway can accommodate and optimize passenger service, and improve the satisfaction of the railway service users, especially during this long weekend," he said. (bj)
