INDUSTRY.co.id - Jakarta - Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (Kemenkominfo) is currently focusing on monitoring the content on social media that can make the state instability.
"Currently there is a lot of content in social media so I say before the government more firmly again, organize and manage content in social media," said Minister of Communications Rudiantara.
The summit of Harsiarnas, which was held at a hotel in Palu, was attended by hundreds of guests, including Bawaslu Commissioner Mochammad Affifudin, Public Relations Division Head of Police Inspector General Setyo Wasisto, Member of Imam Wahyudi Press Council, and hundreds of KPI commissioners from 34 provinces in Indonesia.
Minister of Communications and Information Technology revealed from 100 percent of content in social media, only about 50 percent of social media service providers who want to follow the government's request related to the rules that have been set.
"The government and the National Police are currently monitoring the social media one by one because not all government requests to the social media service providers are obeyed, meaning that the government requested accounts for blocking are not all obeyed," Rudiantara said.
He explained that his party has asked the service provider to maintain stability in Indonesia, both in terms of social, economic, and so on, but the service manager is not well received.
He has also affirmed to the service providers whenever leaving their social media platforms to be used by Indonesians or foreigners who do not like Indonesia to go ahead by letting hoaks, slander, etc. then they are deemed to be no longer doing business in Indonesia and have made instability in Indonesia .
"It is only a matter of time for us to be more assertive to the social media service providers," Rudiantara said to be greeted with applause from participants.
