INDUSTRY.co.id - Jakarta- Minister of Communications and Informatics Rudiantara asked Facebook to close third-party applications due to abuse of user data by Cambridge Analytica through third-party applications in the form of quizzes.
"We ask Facebook to shutdown on applications that are collaborated with third parties, especially quizzes such as Cambridge Analytica." Rudiantara also requested an audit of Facebook on applications that are collaborated with other parties in order not to affect the people of Indonesia.
All social media, including Facebook must comply with the rules in Indonesia, he said, especially on the Minister of Communication and Information Technology Regulation No. 20 of 2016 on Protection of Personal Data because of the case of Cambridge Analytica about personal data.
In addition to administrative sanctions in the form of oral and written reprimands, sanctions related to possible legal or criminal law, have been coordinated with the Chief of Police.
"Although this is not a crime complaint, so this case is general offense, but we work together to process it," he said.
Rudiantara also appealed to the community, do not use social media first and wait until it is all arranged well, let alone related to abuse of personal data of social media users.
If he can not resist the urge to access the media, he advises people to be careful about the information they want to share on their social media.
"We often just so easy to receive when asked various things, so weigh what want to share or submit information on social media platform," said Rudiantara.
There is also Head of Public Policy Facebook Indonesia Ruben Hattari said cooperation with third parties will be audited to avoid scandals like Cambridge Analytica going back.
"For the moment being notified already, it's one aspect we'll be auditing, to ensure not only Cambridge Analytica, other apps are already running our platform," Ruben said.
