Fly to China and America, Coordinating Minister Luhut Will Offer 15 Infrastructure Projects

INDUSTRY.co.id - Jakarta, Coordinating Minister for Marine Affairs Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan paid a working visit to China and the United States on Wednesday (11/4/2018).
During the working visit, one of his agenda will offer 15 infrastructure projects to investors from both countries.
Luhut said the 15 projects consist of industrial areas, toll roads, and trains. The project is spread in several locations, such as North Sumatra, North Kalimantan, North Sulawesi, and Bali. One of the projects offered is the industrial estate in Kuala Tanjung, North Sumatra.
"We prepared 15 projects," Luhut said in his office.
Luhut gives the conditions to the investors who will enter and are interested in the 15 projects must adhere to four things.
The four things are, First, an environmentally friendly investment. Second, prepare and use local labor. Third, do not export raw goods. Fourth, obliged to transfer technology to Indonesia.
"For the requirement of hiring local staff can be done gradually, especially for work that can not be done by local workers.
The reason, Indonesia is still a little even have no technical personnel in accordance with the needs of foreign investment, especially outside Java, "he explained.
Luhut explained that for China, the Bamboo Curtain government will seek local Indonesian partners to consult with the government.
Meanwhile, on a visit to the US, Luhut will offer the project in the event the World Economic Forum (WEF) on 18 April.
"So which one is faster and the price is more suitable (will be selected)," he said.
Later, continued Luhut, the projects offered will be through alternative funding schemes.
"Alternative funding schemes are through blended financing scheme or public private partnership," he said.
