Foreign Minister: All Parties Withholds Related to Syrian Conflict

INDUSTRY.co.id - Jakarta - Foreign Minister Retno LP Marsudi called on all parties to exercise restraint and prevent the escalation of the deteriorating situation in Syria.

"Since last Sunday, Indonesia continues to monitor the situation in Syria because there are still thousands of citizens living in the country," said Retno LP Marsudi after the launch of the application "Safe Travel" in Jakarta, Saturday (14/4/2018)

The statement was delivered by Minister Retno to respond to the coalition of the United States, France and Britain which launched a military offensive to Syria on Saturday (14/4).

Retno continues to communicate with the Indonesian Ambassador in the Capital of Damascus, Syria, and others.

This is done to ensure the safety of Indonesian Citizens.

"In addition to communicating with Indonesian Ambassador to Syria, I have communicated with other Indonesian Ambassadors in the Middle East and Europe," he said.

He asserted, the safety and security of Indonesian citizens is a priority right now.

"I do not want any victims from Indonesian citizens related to the situation in Syria," said Retno.

In addition, Indonesia affirms to all parties to respect the value and international law, in particular the UN charter on international peace and security.

"The principles of international law should be put forward in response to the military attack," said Retno.
