INDUSTRY.co.id - Jakarta - The government is still trying to make the rapid Jakarta-Bandung train project although it has not experienced significant development since it was established as National Strategic Project (PSN) since 2016.
Chairman of the Implementation Team of the Priority Infrastructure Priority Initiative (KPPIP) Committee of the Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs Wahyu Utomo in West Merdeka Forum titled "Progress of National Strategic Project 2018" in Jakarta, Friday (27/4/2018) said so far the status of the project is maintained.
"We are still a continuing effort of land issues with friends of BPN (National Land Agency) to settle land issues," he said.
Although still experiencing difficulties due to the progress of land acquisition that never completed, Wahyu said the government is still optimistic that the project can be realized despite the retreat from the initial target of operating from 2019 to 2020.
"I see we are still optimistic because this is an order as well and I think it is strategic to prepare metropolitan Jakarta and Bandung," he said.
The development of mass transportation, according to Wahyu, is also reasonably established as well as in other countries. Not to mention the need for rail-based transportation is now increasingly high especially in urban areas.
There are four main criteria for the project to remain as PSN status so as to obtain government acceleration facilities.
The first criterion is in accordance with the National Medium Term Development Plan or the Strategic Plan, in accordance with the Regional Spatial Plan (RTRW) or specified in the legal umbrella of a Government Regulation or a Presidential Regulation.
The project must also meet the criteria of strategic role, as well as aligned with various infrastructure sectors.
The other criteria, which should start no later than the third quarter of 2019 or at least reach the Financial Close before the third quarter of 2019; specifically the oil and gas sector and aircraft industry, Plan of Development approval (PoD) no later than the third quarter of 2019; the project must have a quality feasibility study; and worth over Rp100 billion.
The final criterion is that the project must have a clear Project Responsible and relevant ministries committed to running the project (in the form of an action plan and schedule.
