INDUSTRY.co.id - Jakarta - Chairman of the House of Representatives of Indonesia Bambang Soesatyo reminded public transportation service provider based on applications or taxis and motorcycle taxis online to provide security guarantees to its customers.

"Service providers or applicators must make an effort to prevent online taxi drivers from committing crimes against the public of their service users," said Bambang Soesatyo, through his written statement received in Jakarta on Saturday (28/4/2018).

Bambang Soesatyo, familiarly called Bamsoet, said it responded to the robbery and robbery action carried out by an online taxi driver against his service user, a 24-year-old woman in West Jakarta, recently.

The taxi driver involves two friends to rob and try to rape the victim.

According to Bamsoet, the legal issue of the case, becomes the authority of the Police to investigate it and the Police to take firm action against the perpetrators.

The Golkar Party politician also called on the Police to form a special team to conduct intensive monitoring of the taxi drivers online as more information and complaints about the behavior of online transport drivers are detrimental to society.

"Taxi drivers online are a part of society that should be responsible for security and order in society," he said.

Bamsoet also encouraged the Commission V of the House of Representatives to invite the Minister of Transportation, the online transportation company, and the Indonesian Transportation Society (MTI) to jointly conduct the study and explain the cases of criminality that occurred.

According to him, there should be a system of security notification that can be immediately known by the providers of online taxi services and the public when there are taxi drivers online who try to do crime.

"The importance of this notification to minimize the incidence of robbery against service users, repeated again," he said.

Bamsoet also urged the Ministry of Transportation to urge online transport companies to provide accountability to the victims and to apply Minister of Transportation Regulation No. 46 of 2014 on Minimum Service Standards for Transport of Persons with Motor Vehicles Not in the Route.

According to Bamsoet, the regulation has clearly set the safety standards for taxis.

"The Ministry of Transportation should force all online transport companies to have clear security and protection procedures against consumers in anticipation of crime," he said.

Online transportation company, he said, should tighten the requirements of the driver's admission both in terms of administration and the physical and mental condition of the driver, considering every citizen is the responsibility of the Government, "he concluded
