INDUSTRY.co.id - Singapore - Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs Wiranto said the meeting between North and South Korean leaders Kim Jong Un and Moon Jae-in is a positive moment to be grateful for.

"This should be thankful for being a positive momentum," said Minister Wiranto on the sidelines of the 32nd ASEAN Summit held at Shangri-La Hotel Singapore on Saturday (28/4/2018)

Wiranto hopes that after the momentum of the two leaders meeting there will be a meeting between the North Korean leader and US President Donald Trump.

From that step he said, then expected to produce something important that can convince countries around the world that nuclear dangers have been able to be neutralized.

"That is our hope, but we should be grateful because we were worried that it would be a great world threat at least inevitably with the commitments of some countries that urged North Korea to be softer," he said.

With the two Korean leaders meeting in the border regions of the two countries, according to Wiranto, it is an event that leads to the hope of all parties to a better world peace.

On Friday (27/4) a meeting was held between the leaders of South Korea and North Korea. Kim Jong Un was noted to be the first North Korean leader to come to South Korea after more than 50 years have passed.

South Korean President Moon Jae-in welcomes Kim Jong Un's arrival in the Demilitarized Zone (DMZ) Demarcation Line.

The two joined hands as they walked the red carpet to the Peace House or the Peace Building at Panmumjom.
