INDUSTRY.co.id - Jakarta - President Director of PT Garuda Indonesia Tbk Pahala Mansury ensures will continue to build communications with trade unions in order to maintain positive trends in the company's performance following the threat of workers strike.

Pahala in the exposure to the performance of the first quarter of 2018 in Jakarta, Thursday, said the threat of union strikes related to the reshuffle of directors and corporate management is not the authority of the directors.

"The matter of the board of directors and management is beyond our authority because it is the authority of shareholders and the Ministry of SOEs, but we must communicate, sit down together, always open communication with the Employees Union, for sure," he said.

Nevertheless, Pahala asked the whole range to focus on community service to improve the company's positive performance.

According to him, the company's performance is improving where in the first quarter of 2018 the company managed to cut losses up to 36.5 percent.

Improved operational performance, he added, was also shown by the improvement of On Time Performance (OTP) to 88.8 percent or an increase compared to last year's OTP achievement record of 86.5 percent.

"We hope that we will focus on how to serve the community as well as possible," he said.

Against the threat of strike from Garuda Indonesia (Sekarga) Employee Union and Garuda Pilot Association (APG), Pahala ensures management will anticipate by preparing the crew.

"There's a lot we do for that to prepare a crew that is enough, we must do it while making sure all parties are involved in carrying out their duties," he concluded.
