INDUSTRY.co.id - Shanghai - China will expand imports of electronic component products from Indonesia to fill the void of imports from the United States as the world's two largest economies are still engaged in a trade war.
"Our electronic component products are very strong here, the potential is big enough," said Indonesian Ambassador to China Djauhari Oratmangun in Shanghai on Saturday (5/5/2018)
Ambassador Djauhari Oratmangun said that the value of China's electronic components import from Indonesia to date reached four billion US dollars.
The value is the same as imports of biodiesel but above the import of household appliances, timber and processed wood that only reached three billion US dollars.
"Increasing our exports could reduce our trade deficit with China from 25 billion US dollars to just five billion US dollars last year," he said before flying to Jakarta to join the state visit of Prime Minister Li Keqiang in Indonesia at the invitation of President Joko Widodo .
Indonesia-China trade volume, said Ambassador, has now reached 65 billion US dollars and he believes that number will continue to increase.
"They also just give us the opportunity to export tropical fruits such as mangosteen, pineapple, and durian, as well as swiftlet nest," said Djauhari who just 13 days served as Ambassador full power to China and concurrently Mongolia in Beijing.
Meanwhile Prime Minister Li Keqiang will make a state visit in Indonesia on 6-8 May 2018.
During the visit, PM Li is scheduled to meet President Joko Widodo on Sunday (5/6/2018)
