BPS: Bali Exports in Q1 / 2018 Up 13.03 Percent

INDUSTRY.co.id - Denpasar- Bali exported various commodities to foreign market earning foreign exchange 154,008 million US dollar during quarter I-2018, increased 17,757 million US dollars or 13,03 percent compared to the same quarter the previous year 136,250 million US dollars.
"The merchandise shipped to the overseas market is largely the result of small industries and household handicrafts," said Head of Bali Provincial Central Bureau of Statistics Adi Nugroho in Denpasar on Monday (7/5/2018)
He said the special value of Bali's exports in March 2018 was 59.045 million US dollars increased 13,784 million US dollars or 30.46 percent compared to the previous month (m-to-m) which recorded 45.260 million US dollars.
Compared to the same month of the previous year, foreign exchange earnings also increased by 7.118 million US dollars, or 13.71 percent, as exports of various commodities in March 2017 produced only 51.927 million US dollars.
Adi Nugroho explained that five major commodities from Bali that penetrate the overseas market consist of fish and shrimp products of 25.51 percent, followed by jewelry products (gems) 15.88 percent and apparel products not knitted 15.16 percent.
It also shipped wood products, wooden goods by 8.53 percent and furniture and home lighting products by 5.45 percent.
Adi Nugroho added that the various types of commodities shipped abroad were the most absorbed by the United States market which reached 23.63 percent, followed by Australia 9.23 percent, China 9.02 percent, Hong Kong 7.44 percent and Japan 7, 30 percent.
The remaining 23.74 percent is exported to other countries outside Bali's top ten export destinations. When compared to the previous month's condition (February 2018) of the ten major destination countries of Bali exports throughout the destination countries experienced an encouraging increase.
Even exports of Australian destinations have increased by 100 percent. Even during the year 2018 export destination kangaroo country that reached the highest point, with a prominent jewelry products (gems) of 2.624 million US dollars.
In addition Hong Kong's goal also increased exponentially by hundreds of percent. During 2017 to 2018, Bali's exports to Hong Kong peaked in March 2018, with a dominant commodity of 1.417 million US dollars and products of stone, plaster and cement (1,004 million US dollars), Adi Nugroho said.
