BPS: Production of Bangka Belitung Manufacturing Industry Up 3.03 Percent

INDUSTRY.co.id - Pangkalpinang- Bangka Belitung Islands Central Bureau of Statistics noted the production of large manufacturing industry is on the first quarter 2018 increased by 3.03 percent compared to fourth quarter 2017, as the production of food industry in the area increased.
"Food industry production rose 12.07 percent, while the base metal industry fell 1.24 percent," said BPS Provincial Military Province chief Darwis Sitorus in Pangkalpinang, Monday (7/5/2018)
He said the increase in production of large medium-sized manufacturing industries in the province is in line with the national growth also rising 0.88 percent against the fourth quarter of 2017.
However, the sector experienced a difference in direction with the national, namely the national food industry decreased by 1.23 percent and the base metal industry rose 3.83 percent.
"Compared to the first quarter of 2017 (y-on-y), the production of large manufacturing industries in the province is up 1.07 percent, due to the rise of the food industry 20.72 percent and the base metal industry down 5.85 percent," he said.
Darwis said that the growth of micro and small industry production in the first quarter (January - March) 2018 in the province of Bangka Belitung Islands in general rose by 4.76 percent compared to the fourth quarter of 2017.
"The increase in production is almost happening in all types of industries, especially in the metal goods industry, not the machinery and equipment that contribute significantly to the total production of micro and small industries," he said.
According to him, the industry has increased up to 26.94 percent followed by wood industry, wooden goods, cork, woven bamboo, rattan and the like by 16.04 percent.
"The increase is inseparable from the increasing quantity of demand compared to normal, in total, IMK production increase in the same direction with the national scale rose by 3.09 percent against the fourth quarter of 2017," he said. (Ant)
