Chinese Prime Minister Ensures Investment in Indonesia Must Use Local Workers

INDUSTRY.co.id - Bogor, Chinese Prime Minister Li Keqiang alludes to the manpower employed in his investment project in Indonesia.

Li stated that Chinese companies investing in Indonesia should absorb local labor.

This was said during the press statement with President Joko Widodo (Jokowi).

Li reasoned both Indonesia and China should benefit from invested investments. This he calls will be a step forward for both countries.

"We emphasize the Chinese companies that invest, should (use) most of the Indonesian workforce," said Li at the Presidential Palace, Bogor (7/5/2018).

Furthermore, Li explained, China is interested in investing in four economic corridors of Indonesia. The four corridors are Bitung in North Sulawesi, Yellow Land in North Kalimantan, and Sei Mangkei and Kuala Tanjung in North Sumatra.

"We will direct Chinese companies to invest in these four economic corridors," he said.

Another thing that Li mentioned was the trade cooperation in the halal food sector and Muslim fashion. He explained that the business niche is very potential to be worked on by both countries, considering the number of Muslim population in China reaches 20 million people.

Li also explained that his country is already exporting this commodity to the Middle East. Therefore, investors from the Panda Country can invest in building production in similar sectors in Indonesia.

"Thus we jointly develop a third market," Li said.
