INDUSTRY.co.id - Jakarta - Vice President Jusuf Kalla held a bilateral meeting with Chinese Prime Minister Li Keqiang at the Shangri-La Hotel Jakarta on Monday (7/5/2018) to discuss efforts to increase trade cooperation.

"I am very optimistic that the cooperation between Indonesia and China will continue to grow big, this can be supported by the policy of the Government," said Vice President Jusuf Kalla in his speech at the Indonesia-China Business Summit 2018.

One of the efforts to increase cooperation is by increasing the quota of palm oil exports and electronic component products from Indonesia to China.

The export from Indonesia is an attempt to fill the void of China's import quota from the United States when the two countries are involved in "trade war" tensions.

The export value of Indonesian electronic components to the bamboo curtain country reached 4 billion US dollars, which is equivalent to the export value of biodiesel.

The total volume of Indonesia-China trade now reaches 65 billion US dollars and is expected to continue to increase after the bilateral meeting between Vice President Jusuf Kalla and Prime Minister Li Keqiang.

China is the largest trading partner for Indonesia since the conclusion of Indonesia-China strategic and comprehensive partnership five years ago.
