INDUSTRY.co.id - Tangerang - After the explosion that occurred in Surabaya on Sunday (5/13/2018) morning, Minister of Transportation Budi Karya Sumadi made a number of checks at Soekarno-Hatta Airport.
In checking, the Minister of Transportation instructed the security of Soekarno-Hatta Airport to increase the quantity and quality of care for passengers both coming and going.
"The Ministry of Transportation is grieving and concerned about the events that took place in Surabaya, so ministry had intensive coordination with the Police, Army and all airport stakeholders mainly to improve the quantity and quality of the guard so that the sense of security and comfort of the people who want to go , "said Minister of Transportation at Soekarno-Hatta Airport on Sunday (13/05/2018).
On the occasion, Minister of Transportation and PT. Angkasa Pura II, the Police and the Army conducted random checks on several vehicles entering the Soekarno-Hatta Airport Terminal area.
"I assigned to all airports to conduct random checks on incoming vehicles," said Minister of Transportation.
In addition, the Minister of Transportation also requested to conduct intensive checks on the movement of suspicious people around the Airport.
"I also ask PT Angkasa Pura II, Police and TNI to deploy troops to oversee activities that are also suspicious, so please be advised to passengers who feel uncomfortable with the situation because of this in order to improve security," said Minister of Transportation .
Not only checks on vehicles, the Minister of Transportation also directly checks some passenger baggage on the security check via x-ray.
This security alone will be done intensively for 2 weeks. "At least 2 weeks into the future must be done (security) consistently, if we deem necessary and we ask for information from the team (security) we will continue and if necessary when the Eid can be done," said Minister of Transportation.
Not only security at the airport, the Minister of Transportation also requested increased security at other points such as Stations, Ports and Terminals.
"Airport number one, the second will be the Station we will apply, the terminal as well. In addition, the activities in the Port, especially passenger ships," said Minister of Transportation.
During his visit, the minister had time to collect the security forces assigned at Soekarno-Hatta Airport. The Minister of Transportation explicitly stated that the Police and the TNI were able to provide a sense of security and comfort to the community.
"I am sure the Police and TNI are the best people of Indonesia and we are able to keep this airport safe, give security to all visitors We must fight all terror activities directed to us," said Minister of Transportation.
