Chinese Investors Immediately Plant Capital in Bali-Bintan Region

INDUSTRY.co.id - Beijing- One of the developers from Beijing, China, is interested to open an industrial area in Bali and Bintan, Riau Islands Province.
"We are assisted by PBOC (People’s Bank of China / China central bank) and one of the developers of industrial estate in Beijing to open industrial areas in Indonesia They are planning to open areas in Bali and Bintan," said Deputy of Indonesia Investment Coordinating Board Investment Planning, Tamba Parulian Hutapea, at Wisma Duta KBRI Beijing, Tuesday (15/5/2018)
Tamba Parulian Hutapea said that China's investment value in 2015 is only 528 million US dollars. In 2017, the value of investment in the world's largest country jumped dramatically to 3.3 billion US dollars.
"This year's figure has reached 680 million US dollars, when viewed from their commitment, (then) still under two percent," he said.
China's investment value in Indonesia ranks third under Singapore and Japan.
Nevertheless, nearly 60 percent of Chinese investment is outside of Java, whereas nearly 90 percent of Japanese investment is in Java.
"This Chinese investment is 'inline' with the government's program in declaring development throughout Indonesia," Tamba added.
Meanwhile, Indonesian Ambassador to China Djauhari Oratmangun said that China will try to become the largest foreign investor in Indonesia.
"Yes, cook this country as much investment as Singapore and Japan," said Ambassador Djauhari.
According to him, the increase in the value of Chinese investment, the increase in the value of Indonesian exports, and the increase of tourist arrivals from China has also been reflected in the meeting of President Joko Widodo and Chinese Prime Minister Li Keqiang in Indonesia on Monday (7/5).
