INDUSTRY.co.id - Jakarta - PT Hutama Karya (Persero) will use "Building Information Modeling" or BIM method to work on the strengthening and elevation project of Tanjung Emas Harbor Port Docks owned by PT Pelindo III (Persero) located in Semarang, Central Java.
"This is the first time we have used the BIM method, which allows project executors to get more accurate project development information at each development cycle or stage with better analysis and control than manual work," said Eastern Director Hutama Karya Sugeng Rochadi in written statement in Jakarta, Thursday (24/05/2018)
By applying BIM, the level of suitability of the design, planning and construction phases can be more optimal because the method is capable of producing data and geometries with higher precision.
"In turn, BIM is able to save costs and time on project implementation," he added.
With regard to the scope of work to be carried out, Head of Region IV Hutama Karya Andung Damar Sasongko explained that it is responsible for working on Sub-Structure in the shape of Steel Piling, the work of "upper-structure" in the form of "pile cap", beam, floor, "plank fender "and deletes.
"In addition to the structure, we will also work on various other complementary facilities such as 'fender', 'bollard', 'rail crane', 'stoper crane', 'cansteen', 'junction box', 'pedestrian', and 'ducting' pipe water distribution to ships, as well as lighting facilities for dock lights and drainage, "added Andung.
The project with a total contract value of approximately Rp297 billion is planned to be completed by early 2019 and is expected to have an impact on the smooth operation of logistics at the port.
Container crane (container cranes) at Semarang Container Terminal will be transferred to Ocean Terminal.
In addition, the dock will also be connected to the railway line, so that container transportation will be more smoothly and logistics costs in Semarang can be more efficient.
