President Jokowi Review Development Progress of Kuningan Dam
INDUSTRY.co.id - Kuningan - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) accompanied by Minister of Public Works and People's Housing (PUPR) Basuki Hadimuljono reviewed the location of the Kuningan Dam construction in Randusari Village, Cibeureum District, Kuningan Regency, West Java Province, Friday (25/5/2018).
President Jokowi said that the 221 hectare Kuningan Dam that stemmed the Cikaro River will have a total volume of 25.9 million m3.
With such a large capacity, this multifunctional dam will be a source of irrigation irrigation area of 3000 hectares of rice fields in two Irrigation Areas (DI) namely DI Cileuweung in Kuningan district of 1,000 hectares and DI Jangkelok in Brebes district of 2,000 hectares.
"Kuningan Dam also serves to meet the needs of raw water with a capacity of 300 liters per second for 300 thousand Head of Family (KK) both in Kuningan and Brebes Dam is targeted to be completed by the end of 2018," said President Jokowi.
Bend Kuningan is one of the National Strategic Project (PSN) with a current progress of about 80%. Subsequent to completion will be carried out water filling dam (impounding) in early 2019.
The PUPR Ministry for the period 2015-2019 constructed 65 dams consisting of 16 further dams and 49 new dams to support food and water security as Nawa Cita President Joko Widodo and Vice President Jusuf Kalla.
President Jokowi believes the development target of 65 dams will be achieved. This year the President said that there will be eight dams that are completed and ready to be inaugurated.
"The dam construction will be completed one by one and by 2018, 8 reservoirs will be completed, including the Kuningan Dam," said President.
Other dams to be completed this year are Rotiklot Dam in East Nusa Tenggara, Tanju-Mila Twin Dam in West Nusa Tenggara, Gondang Dam and Logung in Central Java, Sei Gong Dam in Batam, Sindang Heula Dam in Banten, Paselloreng Dam in South Sulawesi and Bendungan Kuningan in West Java.
The average progress of eight dams is already 80-90 percent. For Rotiklot Dam, Tanju and Mila are finished and ready for impounding.
Meanwhile Minister Basuki disclosed, another benefit of Bendungan Kuningan is flood control and hydroelectric energy generator of 500 KW.
"The dam also has the potential to become a tourist area in Kuningan because it is not far from the settlement so we have to correct the area," said Minister Basuki.
The cost of dam construction that stemmed Cikaro River, Cijalengkok River worth Rp 491.4 billion, which is stated in the initial contract value. The work has been started since 2013 by PT. Wijaya Karya - PT. Brantas Abipraya KSO.
This dam is a type of dam with a peak length of 229 meters and equipped tunnel dodging along 218.42 meters.
Director General of Water Resources Imam Santoso said the challenge in building a dam is the issue of land acquisition. But can be overcome after the PP No.105 of 2015 on the Second Amendment PP. 24 of 2010 on Forest Area Use.
