INDUSTRY.co.id - Sangihe - Assistant of Development Administration of Sangihe Island Regency, North Sulawesi, Benhard Pilat said the Sea Tolerance program is beginning to affect the decline in the prices of goods in the archipelago.

"People in the Sangihe Islands are beginning to feel the positive impact of the Sea Tolerance program," said Benhard Pilat in Tahuna, North Sulawesi, Monday (28/05/2018)

According to him, the price of public goods began to decline since the Toll Sea, so people's purchasing power also increased.

"Sangihe people's purchasing power continues to increase after the Toll sea program is present in Sangihe," he said.

Through the Toll Sea program, he said, the Sangihe District Government also made a breakthrough for the benefit of the community by proposing to the central government to increase the previous harbor route from Makassar-Tahuna to Surabaya-Makassar-Tahuna.

"At present, the sea toll route is not only from Makassar but has been increased by Surabaya-Makassar-Tahuna," he said.

In addition to the addition of routes, the used vessels have been replaced with larger vessels that can contain more containers.

"The vessels used for the Toll Sea to Tahuna already contain 200 containers so it is very useful in transporting the basic needs of people from Surabaya and Makassar to Tahuna and vice versa," he said.

Based on the evaluation, he said, there is now a decline in the price of basic needs of the community up in the archipelago and rural areas.

In addition to the basic needs of the community, the Marine Toleration program is also very useful to transport agricultural commodities and fisheries out of the region.

He hopes all entrepreneurs in Tahuna can take advantage of the Sea Toll program for business and community services, he added. (Ant)
