Previously the West Sumatra Provincial Government again wrote to Garuda Indonesia airline requested that the rise in ticket prices during Eid for the Jakarta-Padang route is not too high because it is one of the triggers of inflation.
"During this time the ticket price of Garuda Jakarta-Padang route during Eid is quite high compared to the duration of the same flight in other areas so it becomes one of the triggers of inflation," said West Sumatra Governor Irwan Prayitno.
He considered the price set by Garuda does not violate the rules because it is in accordance with the provisions of the upper limit made by the Ministry of Transportation. However, he hopes the increase is not too high.
"We have repeatedly wrote to Garuda's answer to sell the tickets according to the rules, it is true, but compared with the duration of the same flight to other areas is still too expensive," he said.
He said that he had reported the matter to the Ministry of Transportation to lower the upper limit of airfare for the Jakarta-Padang route.
According to Irwan in West Sumatra many migrants and during Eid they have the tradition of returning home so that whatever the price of plane tickets are still bought cause inflation.
While based on searches on online ticket sales sites on Monday, the airline ticket price of Jakarta-Padang route, June 10, 2018 or a week before Eid varies from Rp1, 6 million to Rp1, 7 million.
