RI Invites ILO Members to Increase Social Dialogue in the Digital Economy Era

INDUSTRY.co.id - Switzerland, In the presence of Member States of the International Labor Organization (ILO), the Indonesian Delegation invites ILO members to promote constructive and productive social dialogue, as well as tripartism in the digital economy era.
Head of the Foreign Affairs Cooperation Bureau of the Ministry of Manpower (Kemnaker), Indah Anggoro Putri said social dialogue is an instrument to strengthen partnerships between workers, employers and governments to discuss and solve challenges in the workplace.
"Inclusive social dialogue will be able to resolve labor issues and strengthen tripartism so as to contribute to strengthening the company's economic performance and national economic growth," Putri said in a press statement in Geneva on Wednesday.
It is said Princess, social dialogue built through the tripartism of employers, workers and employers in accordance with the ratification of ILO Convention No. 98 on the Right to Organize and Collective Bargaining and Convention No.144 on Tripartite Consultation.
"The Indonesian government also encourages every company to establish bipartite cooperation as a means to communicate and consult between employers and employees regarding the related industrial relations in the company," she explained.
Putri added, given the importance of social dialogue, the government continues to encourage the establishment of formal and informal social dialogue forums in tripartite or tripartite-plus institutions.
Described Putri, Indonesia has several tripartite bodies, including tripartite councils, wage councils, training and productivity boards, national social security councils, OSH and industrial relations.
"The Government of Indonesia respects the ILO for their cooperation and assistance to us in promoting social dialogue and tripartism We hope that ILO members can strengthen their cooperation and develop a strong network at the national, regional and international levels to create harmonious partnerships," Said Putri.
The Indonesian delegation attended a series of events at the 107th International Labor Conference or International Labor Conference (ILC) held in Geneva Switzerland.
The 107th ILC is scheduled to take place from 28 May to 8 June 2018 and is attended by delegation representatives from 187 member countries of the International Labor Organization (ILO) involving a total of delegates of approximately 5,700 people.
The 107th ILC meeting has the main theme: "Building a Future With Decent Work" was officially opened on 28 May 2018.
