Ministry of Public Works and People's Housing Perform Handling of 23 Landslide Point on Seram Island

INDUSTRY.co.id - Seram Island - Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) handled 23 landslide points on the national roads of Seram Island, Central Maluku District, Maluku Province. This is done because the national road on the island is the main access between regions and the anticipation of increasing the flow of traffic on Eid 2018 homecoming.

Minister PUPR Basuki Hadimuljono some time ago said the Ministry of PUPR perform routine maintenance of all roads and bridges that are the authority of the Central Government.

Landslide handling done by the Ministry of PUPR through the National Road Implementation Center (BPJN) XVI Ambon, Directorate General of Highways from Waipia to Salman in Seram Island along 47 km. But in general, in addition to locations prone to landslides, Waipai-Salman road segment in steady condition.

The handling is part of the routine road rehabilitation activities of 2018 with a budget of 13.81 billion by service providers PT. Cipta Sarana Marga Sejati.

The head of BPBN XVI Ambon, Satrio Sugeng Prayitno, said that the national avalanche is the main route used for the 2018 Lebaran flow. "We will continue to handle this road, but not permanently yet," he said during the Ramadan safari of BPJN XVI team reviewing the landslide handling in Waipia - Saleman on Seram Island, Friday (1/6/18).

According to him to prevent the return of landslides need cooperation from various other stakeholders. Particularly the cooperation of the police and the district government and the community in preserving the forest area.

"Hopefully after the handling and strengthening of cooperation with various stakeholders, the landslide will not happen again, hoping all the interests of the community will also maintain the national road and the function of the forest here in order to be well preserved," he said.

Satrio asserted related to the implementation of the 2018 homecoming route, we make sure the line is still functioning. In addition, it is suggested that the public be careful. "Make sure the completeness of the vehicle to work everything is safe," he said.
