INDUSTRY.co.id - Jakarta- Professor of International Law University of Indonesia Hikmahanto Juwana said Indonesia has some advantages as a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council (DK), one of which can be more active in maintaining world peace.

Previously, Indonesia was elected a permanent member of the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) for the period 2019-2020 through voting at the UN General Assembly.
"Alhamdulillah in the General Assembly of the United Nations, Indonesia was elected a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council representing the Asia-Pacific region to replace Kazakhstan whose membership period will end by the end of 2018," said Foreign Minister Retno Marsudi via a live video conference followed by Antara in Jakarta , Friday.
