Chairman of HKI Encourages Every Industrial Area to be Equipped with Firefighting Vehicle Facilities

INDUSTRY.co.id - Jakarta, the Association of Industrial Zones (HKI) appealed that every industrial area must be equipped with fire fighting vehicles which are allied with the same providers of facilities.

This was disclosed by HKI Chairman Sanny Iskandar responding to the fire incident that occurred at Megacipta Industrial Estate (Megacipta Industrial Park) Batam Island Riau Islands, Thursday (21/6).

"With the existence of fire extinguisher in the location of industrial area, so every time there is a fire will be overcome quickly," said Sanny when contacted by Industry.co.id in Jakarta, Thursday (21/6/2018).

He added that in addition to firefighting vehicles that must be available in industrial areas, along the roadside environment within the industrial estate must be available hydrant.

"This will facilitate the fire suppression in case of fire accident in industrial area," he explained.

It is said Sanny, all fire extinguishers available in the industrial environment must be in accordance with the guidelines and technical standards of industrial zones required in the Regulation of the Minister of Industry.

"Yes, everything must match the guidelines and standards of the Ministry of Industry," said Sanny.

As is known, six people died in a fire that occurred at Megacipta Industrial Estate (Megacipta Industrial Park) Batam Island Riau Islands, on Thursday.

Fires are expected to occur in the morning. However, because of its location within the industrial estate, no one has seen the beginning of the incident.
