INDUSTRY.co.id - Jakarta - After the lifting of the ban on Indonesia by the European Union through the EU Flight Safety List, Lion Air is now conducting studies to fly several countries in Europe. Two countries that are considered quite potential are France and Germany.
"The market sounding from Lion's group, he is now exploring the market to Paris and one of the cities in Germany," said Director General of Air Transportation Ministry of Transportation Agus Santoso in his official statement on Monday (25/06/2018).
The process itself, after the airline to study the market, then will be followed by applying permission to fly the route. In parallel, the Directorate General of Air Transportation also conducted a study on the potential market in the destination city.
Not only the permission of the aviation authority in Indonesia, to fly overseas should also be approved by the aviation authority in the country concerned.
Regarding the aircraft used, Agus underlines to use a wide-body aircraft. Because the flight far away makes the efficiency factor the main thing.
"The Lion also seems to be glancing at the Dreamliner (Boeing 787), because if you do not use a wide body plane it will be a loss, or Boeing 777 or Airbus 380," said Agus.
According to Agus, the selection of France and Germany into the market being explored is one positive thing. The two countries will have a potential market if connected with Jakarta and Denpasar.
"Now there are Garuda Indonesia flights to Amsterdam, but the market of Paris and Germany is a lot too .. There used to be a flight to Germany and this is good if flown again," he concluded
