Trade Mission to Morocco and Tunisia Record Potential Transaction USD 13.70 Million

INDUSTRY.co.id - Jakarta, Indonesia's trade mission to Morocco led by Trade Minister Enggartiasto Lukita posted a potential transaction of USD 10.96 million or approximately Rp153.50 billion.
This trade mission took place on 26-29 June 2018 bringing 35 business actors from 18 companies from various sectors.
"The trade mission to Morocco succeeded in registering a potential transaction of USD 10.96 million derived from one on one business matching. The products of interest are palm oil, coffee, essential oils, vehicle parts, spices, vehicle tires, and fashion, "explained Director General of National Export Development Ministry of Trade Arlinda in Jakarta, Monday (2/7/2018).
Added Arlinda, this transaction will continue to grow along with the achievement of trade agreements that are still in the process of negotiation.
"The above transaction does not include the potential of PT PINDAD transactions with Anoa and Komodo Panzer products, as well as ammunition that is still in the calculation," added Arlinda.
Previously, continued Arlinda, trade mission to Tunisia successfully recorded a potential transaction of USD 2.74 million or approximately Rp37, 80 billion.
"Thus, the total potential transactions recorded on trade missions to Tunisia and Morocco amounted to USD 13.70 million or approximately Rp191, 30 billion," said Arlinda.
Similar to Tunisia, Morocco can be a hub for Indonesian trade to Africa and Europe. Similarly, Indonesia can become a hub for Moroccan trade to ASEAN countries.
Indonesia's total trade with the African continent in 2017 reached USD 8.85 billion. Of that amount, Indonesia non-oil / non-gas exports to Africa amounted to USD 4.86 billion or an increase compared to the year 2016 which was recorded at USD 4.17 billion.
Meanwhile, Indonesia's non-oil and gas imports from Africa amounted to USD 1.36 billion or an increase compared to the year 2016 which was recorded at USD 925 million. Indonesia's main export products to Africa are palm oil, paper, machinery, motor vehicles, rubber, and food and beverages. Meanwhile, Indonesia's imports from Africa are oil and gas, cotton, pulp, and iron and steel.
