INDUSTRY.co.id - Jakarta - The implementation of Jakarta Outer Ring Road toll road integration is expected to increase public awareness to use public transportation.
"The number of private riders is admittedly dominate the toll road segment, so the government gives an alternative, that is please use arterial road and public transportation.
With the current condition we have started to think to make policy push (push) so that people move from private transportation to public transportation, "said Head of Transportation Management Agency of Jabodetabek (BPTJ) Ministry of Transportation Bambang Prihartono.
This was conveyed by Bambang Prihartono in the Media Discussion of West Merdeka Forum (FMB 9) with the theme of "Toll Integration Supporting National Logistics System" in the Multipurpose Room of the Ministry of Communication and Informatics, Jakarta, Monday (02/07/2018).
To that end, Bambang said the BPJT declared war on congestion on toll roads and non-toll roads. One of them is that the government continues to improve its performance on toll roads based on Key Indicator Performance (KIP), which is 40 km per hour on the highway and traffic engineering on arterial / national roads with policies of odd / even police numbers or Contra Flow on certain days.
Ministry of Transportation continues to push policy and educate people to use public transportation. Imagine, economic losses due to congestion in Jabodetabek can reach Rp100 trillion per year.
Jabodetabek BPJT has so far imposed traffic management or traffic engineering. The government has not yet thought to create new toll roads in Jabodetabek area. "We use the existing infrastructure, the issue of traffic management is also related to many factors, for example, we meet OJK in order for the automotive industry to apply an expensive advance purchase." said Bambang.
Through the momentum of this Asian Games 2018, according to Bambang Prihartono, is expected to change the mindset and culture of Jabodetabek citizens to use public transportation. Through the odd-even traffic policy during July and August and the provision of Transjakarta buses for the people to the venue of the Asian Games. "From the BBM's calculation alone it will drop about Rp3 billion-Rp4 billion a day from the odd-even policy extended during this Asian Games," he said.
One thing, ministry of trasport will provide 1,000 Buses in the settlement to increase urban community accessibility from settlement to city.
Also present as the 9th FMB informant was the Chairman of the Implementation Committee of the Priority Infrastructure Provision Acceleration Committee (KPPIP) Coordinating Ministry of Economy Wahyu Utomo, Toll Road Regulatory Agency (BPJT) Heri Trisaputra Zuna and Urban Observer Yayat Supriatna.
