Construction of Kediri Airport, Just Waiting for President Jokowi's Approval

INDUSTRY.co.id - Kediri- The Coordinating Minister for the Ministry of Marine Affairs, Luhut Binsar Panjaitan, said that the airport development in Kediri Regency, East Java, is just waiting for the President's signature to become a national program.
"Airport, I hope later or tomorrow the President will signature into a national project In Kediri will have an international field and it helps economic activity," he said at Pondok Pesantren Lirboyo, Kediri, East Java, Monday (16/07/2018) )
He added that for the airport development project it does require a large enough land up to 500 hectares, so that the airport could become an international airport. However, for certainty of development still have to wait for coordination with related parties.
PT Gudang Garam Tbk, plans to build an airport in Kediri, East Java. The airport is a corporate social responsibility (CSR) program. The airport will be given to the government. Then, it will be managed by PT Angkasa Pura II.
Until now, Gudang Garam has acquired land of about 400 hectares (ha) for the purpose of building the airport, whereas to build the airport it takes up to 500 hectares of land.
PT Gudang Garam also confirmed that it will continue the airport development in Kediri, as a contribution to the community and the state. This was revealed by Director of PT Gudang Garam Istata Taswin Siddharta in a press conference after General Meeting of Shareholders (GSM) June 2018.
Istata expects the company can contribute to society and participate in development.
"The airport is a contribution to society, participate in development, and if tomorrow is going to be fast with the airport, thank goodness, if it does not have much impact, it does not matter," he said.
However, his side refused to disclose detailed budget for the construction of the airport which is planned to be built in Kediri District. He only said the budget is estimated between Rp1 trillion to Rp10 trillion.
"(Airport development cost) is above Rp1 trillion, but not more than Rp10 trillion and this is a rough estimate, because the airport is a lot of elements that we can not be sure," he said.
Alluded to the share of cooperation between the company and the government, Istata is also still reluctant to explain the portion of the cooperation. Himself only confirms that all parties contribute positively to development.
"Regarding the cooperation with the government, we are working with all the elements of government, central, regional, etc. What percentage of Gudang Garam's portion of fits can not be formulated here, I am sure all parties contribute positively. for example we are helped more, we thank you very much, "he said.
