Egg Prices Not Going Down, Government Threatens Market Intervention

INDUSTRY.co.id - Jakarta - The government has prepared measures to stabilize the price of eggs and chicken meat in the market. These efforts have received positive response from business actors.

"There are several steps ahead that we ask and also can be a positive response from the perpetrators, ie do not take additional profits," said Trade Minister Enggartiasto Lukita

He said it would also intervene in the market if the price of eggs and chicken meat did not fade down. The move will be taken if during this week commodity prices were not also declining.

"We are preparing a step to intervene in the market, which is done by asking the big integrators to issue their stocks and we will make direct sales in the market," Enggar said.

For information, the price of chicken eggs in the country, at the Market Pal Merah on Friday (13/7/2018), reached Rp 29,000. While in one of the modern markets in Ciledug, Tangerang, Sunday (15/07/2018), egg prices reached Rp 28.900 per kilogram. The increase of chicken egg price reaches Rp 5,000 to Rp 7,000 per kilogram from the normal price of Rp 22,000 to Rp 24,000.
