Rp 1.9 Trillion Prepared by the Government for NTB Reconstruction

INDUSTRY.co.id - Jakarta - The government has disbursed a budget of at least Rp1.9 trillion to rehabilitate and reconstruct areas affected by the earthquake in Lombok and Sumbawa, NTB, said Finance Minister Sri Mulyani in Jakarta on Monday (08/27/2018)

"In terms of budget, I reported to the Vice President that up to this day the disbursement has been carried out specifically to deal with disasters in NTB: Lombok and Sumbawa, has reached Rp1.9 trillion," Sri Mulyani said after attending a coordination meeting on handling the NTB earthquake at the Vice President's Office Jakarta, Monday.

The budget is obtained from the funds posed by the National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB) and reallocation from ministries and non-ministerial Government agencies (K / L).

The budget has been given by the Government through the Ministry of Social Affairs worth Rp1.25 trillion, Ministry of Health Rp.7.8 billion, Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing Rp.176.2 billion, Ministry of Education and Culture Rp.230 billion, Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources Rp1.5 billion.

"Almost IDR 307 billion comes from BNPB; to include the provision of 5,000 damaged housing units which may be revised the way to deal with around 70,000 (houses)," said Sri Mulyani.

Assistance from the Government through the Ministry of Social Affairs was provided for the provision of compensation, food packages, public kitchens, food, clothing and tents. From the Ministry of Health for the provision of medicines, nutritional logistics and health post tents.

Then the Ministry of PUPR was used to supply water tank cars, sanitation cars, pickup trucks, cabin toilets and generators. The aid budget from the Ministry of Education and Culture is used for the construction of emergency learning tents and school equipment; and from the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources used for the manufacture and maintenance of emergency response wells.

"And we are now processing requests from BNPB for almost a total of all Rp. 6 trillion, but the entire rehabilitation and reconstruction requested is being examined," the minister added.

Coordination meetings related to disaster management in NTB were conducted at the Jakarta Vice President's Office on Monday, led by Vice President Jusuf Kalla.

Present at the meeting were Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Darmin Nasution, Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs Luhut Pandjaitan, Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture Puan Maharani, Social Minister Agus Gumiwang Kartasasmita, and Minister of Public Works and Public Housing Basuki Hadimuljono.

In addition, there were also the Head of BNPB Willem Rampangilei and Deputy Governor of NTB Muhammad Amin. Meanwhile, Coordinating Minister for Politics, Law and Security Wiranto and Interior Minister Tjahjo Kumolo were absent from the meeting.
