INDUSTRY.co.id -Jakarta- The government will revive 3,700 hectares of salt land in East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) in order to return to production and sustain domestic demand for salt.
Minister of Agrarian and Spatial Planning / Head of National Land Agency (BPN) Sofyan Djalil after a coordination meeting at the Ministry for maritime Jakarta, Monday (08/14/2017), said land area of 3,700 hectares in Kupang Bay was controlled by PT Panggung Guna Ganda Semesta (PGGS).
"We want them to solve B to B (commercial transactions between business actors) because there are HGU (Cultivation Rights) owned by the company but have long been abandoned not used anything. We give warning, if not used in 90 days will be canceled," he said .
Sofyan said in 90 days that the government encourages that the company can work with other parties so that land can be utilized.
"With anyone, especially with PT Garam (Persero), because PT Garam already has fields and have experience Let them work together For the government it is not important who is managing, but it is important how the land is useful and we produce salt," he said .
If you do not find the deal until the deadline is determined then the company's HGU can be canceled and given to the party who will use it later.
"The best thing is done B to B," he said.
Sofyan said as a whole in NTT there is a salt area of 400 hectares owned by PT Garam which its management is done with the community. In the province there is also a land area of 225 hectares of abandoned land that has been given to PT Garam.
He added that a good salt field, anyone who owns and makes will be able to be utilized by the community. The system used is a nucleus-plasma partnership.
"If the government wants to make a salt field, or anyone wants to make a good salt mine, the community will voluntarily participate," he said.
The scheme has taken place in Bipolo Village, Kupang District, NTT. PT Garam makes 400 hectares of land and the community offers to participate in the management. The system turned out to make the salt productivity becomes high.
"In Bipolo it is so PT Salt makes salt land, they see high productivity, better technology, people who had a marginal ground will participate so that the land can grow and productivity increases," he explained as quoted by Antara.
The government is working to extend the salt production field. It is hoped that the effort will be able to overcome the problem of salt scarcity that often happens at once so that Indonesia can reduce the import of salt. The program will be undertaken under the coordination of Ministry of coordination in the field of maritime.
