INDUSTRY.co.id - Jakarta - Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) is the key to creating new economic resources in Indonesia. The potential of MSMEs can support the absorption of workers, especially women, increasing the potential of Indonesian culture and tourism while maintaining the sustainability of regional cultural image.

Governor of Bank Indonesia, Agus D.W. Martowardojo, emphasized the important role of MSMEs for the Indonesian economy. With large contributions to Gross Domestic Product, employment and export, MSMEs are always a priority for various ministries, institutions and other relevant parties.

"UMKM is believed to have economic resilience, so it can be a support for financial system stability and economic stability, which is why Bank Indonesia continues to support the Government's efforts in developing UMKM," he said in Jakarta on Friday (8/18/2017).

With various activities aimed at encouraging and improving SMEs, continued Agus, KKI 2017 was expected to contribute to increase the love of the community to the products of UMKM in the country. The public can visit the exhibition of Creative Work of Indonesia (KKI) starting Friday, August 18, 2017 to Sunday, August 20, 2017, at the Jakarta Convention Center.

For that, he said, the development of SMEs requires commitment and support of all parties concerned. Creative Works Indonesia is an exhibition of UMKM handicrafts from Bank Indonesia from various corners of Indonesia. The exhibition is expected to introduce the community to the works of the nation's children who have their own beauty and uniqueness and have high cultural values.

In the implementation of Creative Work Indonesia this time, also held interactive and educational activities for the wider community and SMEs through a series of workshops, talk shows, SME clinics, and business matching.

"The event also features a display of UMKM works in collaboration with national designers, one of which is the couture of Sumba woven fabric of UMKM products built by Bank Indonesia which is processed by renowned Indonesian designer Biyan Wanaatmadja," he said.
