INDUSTRY.co.id - Cikarang - To maximize the distribution of domestic logistics, Cikarang Dry Port (CDP), a land port managed by PT Cikarang Inland Port is currently developing domestic multimodal services.
With these multimodal services, all inter-island distribution flows will utilize all modes of transportation, from trains, motor boats (vessels), to trucks.
Benny Woenardi, Managing Director of CDP explained that in order to maximize the service, CDP has cooperated with several local operators such as KA Logistics as train operator and PT BLP (Bintang Laut Platinum) and BCS (Buana Centra Swakarsa) Logistics for shipping.
"Later will be added again but still on discussion, because back to demand what they like," explained Benny in Cikarang, Thursday (24/08/2017).
The multimodal service line begins with containers transported by train from CDP to Kalimas Station or Benteng Station in Surabaya with approximately 14 hours. Then proceed with vessel to various destination ports in eastern Indonesia.
Vice versa, from Kalimas Station or Benteng Station in Surabaya to Tanjung Priok Port then continued by vessel to various destination ports in western Indonesia.
This multimodal service is expected to provide growth in revenue and CDP distribution flows. However, Benny has not been able to give exact figures of the growth that became the target of CDP. The focus is to provide an introduction to their business clients about multimodal services from CDP.
Currently, regular schedules are served in multimodal services including Cikarang-Benoa and Cikarang-Mataram via Surabaya. There is also Surabaya-Cikarang-Batam. CDP also serves distribution services to other Eastern Indonesia areas such as Kupang and Manokwari.
