INDUSTRY.co.id - Jakarta - PT Propan Industrial Coating Chemicals (Propan Raya ICC) has completed the construction of a water-based paint factory to be inaugurated in September 2017.
This was conveyed by the President Director of Propan Raya ICC, Hendra Adidarma after meeting Minister of Industry, Airlangga Hartarto in Kemenperin Office, Jakarta (28/8/2017).
"The plant is now completed with an installed capacity of 100,000 tons per year, so we have three factories with a capacity of 200,000 tons per year," Hendra said.
He added that the company's new factory will operate using the latest technology, namely raid production system (RPS) originating from Germany. "This is the first factory in Asia Pacific that uses technology like this," he explained.
The new plant is located in Tangerang and focused on the production of water-based or water-based synthetic paints, while the old two manufactures produce water based and solvent based paints.
Furthermore, Hendra said, in the future the company will convert the whole production into water-based paint because it is more environmentally friendly, helps reduce geothermal, and more efficient.
"Currently, in the world there are only three paint manufacturers that use RPS technology, which is 2 factories in Germany and one factory in Indonesia, namely Propan," he added.
Hendra explained that the advantages of RPS technology include a very fast production of 25 tons per batch within 4 hours, consistent and stable yields of products, little human use, flexible, and space saving.
On the other hand, Minister of Industry, Airlangga Hartarto said, the domestic paint industry is currently experiencing some progress, one of which is progress in the field of production technology.
"With technological innovations making watercolor production can be effective and efficient," said Airlangga.
Menperin also hopes domestic paint producers to always innovate in production technology. "With technological innovation, domestic paint products are not inferior to overseas products," he concluded.
