INDUSTRY.co.id - Medan- Coca Cola Amatil Indonesia continues its commitment to increase investment in Indonesia by completing its new plant in Medan, North Sumatra.

Coca-Cola Amatil Indonesia's Supply Chain Director Gigy Philip explained that the company continues to commit to increase investment of up to US $ 300 million over the next three years.

"As a PMA company, we have invested in Indonesia to reach USD445 million in 2012-2017 with 11 thousand employees," said Gigy Philip in Medan, North Sumatra, Wednesday (08/30/2017).

As is known, in March 2017, Coca-Cola Amatil Indonesia has inaugurated the operation of production facilities and distribution centers in Pandaan, Pasuruan, East Java with an investment of USD42 million.

"This effort is one of the stages of our investment commitment which is expected to be a spur for the development of the national food and beverage industry," he said.

Meanwhile, for the expansion carried out in Medan, Coca-Cola Amatil Indonesia poured funds worth US $ 20 million to build five production lines.

On a five-hectare plot, the facility has a production capacity of 150 million bottles per year to be distributed throughout Sumatra Island, including Aceh, Riau Islands, Riau Province, West Sumatra and Jambi.

The factory in Medan absorbs a workforce of about 160 people, of whom as many as 46 employees have been certified by Coca-Cola Amatil Indonesia-Supply Chain Technical Academy.

"We already have eight training academies in seven departments with a total of 35 thousand daily trainings per year," said Philip.

Since its inception in Indonesia in 1992, Coca-Cola Amatil Indonesia has 39 production lines in eight factories employing 10,000 employees to serve more than 500 thousand retail customers in both urban and rural areas of Indonesia, about 120,000 of which spread over the region of Sumatra.
