INDUSTRY.co.id - Jakarta, the Ministry of Industry continues to increase the innovation and competitiveness of the food and beverage industry (mamin) in line with the establishment of this sector as one of five pilot sectors in the implementation of Industry 4.0 in Indonesia.

"The mamin industry plays an important role in the distribution of business in the country, where the perpetrators are mostly small and medium scale industries," said Minister of Industry of Airlangga Hartarto at the opening of Food and Beverage Industry Products Exhibition 2018 at the Plasa Exhibition Industry, Ministry of Industry, Jakarta, Monday (4/23/2018).

Minister of Industry explained that his side has launched Roadmap of Making Indonesia 4.0 which was inaugurated by President Joko Widodo. The strategic move into this national movement aims to transform and integrate the digital or online world with production lines in the industrial sector.

"With all production processes running through the internet as the main support, it is expected to increase productivity and innovation and production cost efficiency for our manufacturing, including in the mamin industry so that national industrial products can be globally competitive," he said.

To encourage the acceleration of the implementation of Industry 4.0, Kemenperin participates in printing competent industrial human resources through vocational education programs.
