INDUSTRY.co.id - Waetabula -Presiden Joko Widodo (Jokowi) arrived at Tambolaka Airport, Southwest Sumba, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT), to attend the Tenun Ikat Festival and the 1001 Horse Sandelwood Parade in Waetabula on Wednesday (12 // 2017)

President Jokowi accompanied by First Lady Iriana Joko Widodo and his entourage arrived at the airport Tambolaka using presidential plane promptly at 10:15 pm, and were greeted by NTT Governor Frans Lebu Raya, Pangdam IX / Udayana Maj Komaruddin Simandjuntak, NTT police chief Inspector General of Police Agung Sabar Santoso along A number of local officials.

"Mr. President will today attend the ikat weaving event, and the 1001 horse parade Sandelwood and run a series of other events," said Southwest Sumba Regent Markus D Talu in Waetabula on Wednesday.

He explained that when he arrived at the post office, the President would be greeted by a number of local officials such as the regents of four districts on the mainland of Sumba.

The President will be awarded the title of Rato Sumba Southwest or and will be given a typical Sumba machete whose handle is made of elephant ivory and is given a Sandelwood horse as the highest honor.

"Later he will be given the title of Rato and will also wear traditional clothing typical of Sumba and wearing ikat Lambaleko," he added.

Meanwhile Antara's observation in the Galatama field, in front of the West Sumba Regent's office of thousands of weavers with a number of woven fabrics and other woven fabrics have gathered.

They (weavers) dressed in traditional clothes and brought some of their weaving equipment.

Weavers from North Kodi, Christina admitted enthusiastically welcomed the arrival of the number one person in Indonesia.

"I hope to be able to shake hands with the President," she said.
