INDUSTRY.co.id - Jakarta, Minister of Industry, Airlangga Hartarto, said that several industries in the country are ready to expand their business or expansion by 2018. However, the company is still waiting for certainty regarding the supply of raw materials to support its production increase.

"They are Coca-Cola, Mattel, Cabot Corporation and Cargill, but the raw materials are not regulated, or are not subject to restrictions," the minister said according to official information received in Jakarta on Saturday (3 / 2/2018).

Minister believes that if the ease of importing raw materials is given, especially those that can not be obtained domestically, the expansion and investment in the industrial sector will increase.

"The availability of raw materials can maintain the continuity of industrial production to meet the needs of domestic and export markets," he explained.

Minister added, a number of companies that want to expand it, has a competitive competitiveness in the global arena. For example, Cabot Corporation, the industry that produces raw materials for the tire industry, namely carbon black.

"Yesterday I have met Cabot, and they are in Indonesia for 30 years, the industry is for the structure of the automotive sector, so we have tremendous potential," he said.

"Production of carbon black this company is called the number one in the world," Minister added

Furthermore, Cargill is a company in the field of food that requires corn as raw material.

"Cargill, who makes sweetener from tapioca, can develop a sweetener from maize, especially since their bases are exported," said Minister of Industry.

In addition to spurring national industry more productively, the Ministry of Industry also requested that they be more innovative. Moreover, in facing the era of digital economy and the application of technology of the fourth industrial revolution or Industry 4.0 that has been running at this time.
