INDUSTRY.co.id - Padang - PT Semen Padang targets to achieve a profit of Rp600 billion in 2018 by conducting a number of innovations and improving the effectiveness and efficiency of the company in facing the increasingly competitive market of the country's cement industry.

"We will continue to create innovation and improve efficiency," he said.

He delivered it after a joint ceremony in commemoration of the 108th anniversary of PT Semen Padang, which coincided with March 18, 2018.

According to him as a company whose age is more a century of experience will have more and more and make more ready to face the competition.

"Indeed, the current cement industry competition is quite horrible, Indonesia over production of 35 million tons, this makes us continue to think of creating new innovations," he explained.

He said that for quality and technology, Semen Padang is not in doubt but people also want a cheaper price and we are trying to find a middle ground.

For efficiency, he mentioned that production in Indarung II, III, IV, V and VI factories needs to be improved to be more optimal.

"If the Indarung factory VI already use technology that is more efficient because it can use the fuel in the form of low calorie coal," he added as quoted by Antara.

He conveyed one of the opportunities taken by the company is the construction of the Sumatra highway toll road using raw materials in the form of Semen Padang.

Yosviandri said West Sumatran residents should be proud because the only state-owned company in this province who reaches 108 years is only Semen Padang.

"We would like to thank the founders and the environmental community where the raw material of cement is taken, may Semen Padang remain the backbone of the West Sumatra economy," he said.
