INDUSTRY.co.id - Jakarta - PT Kawasan Industri Jababeka Tbk (KIJA) is targeting the construction of 100 new cities throughout Indonesia as well as making it a smart city. Nevertheless it is not an easy matter and quickly realized.

Between local governments and investors are waiting for who will start building the infrastructure.
"The potential of Indonesia to grow is very visible but all rich in chickens and eggs, investors are waiting for infrastructure to be built, while the government to build infrastructure is waiting (investor commitment) to build hotels and others," said Darmono, during a press conference related to investment opportunities in the field of tourism support the development of 100 cities into smart city in Jakarta, Wednesday (6/6).
As a middle ground for the problem, he said all must agree to start building industrial hospitality such as tourism and also the empowerment of the surrounding community. In addition, all must be together to be able to build human resources (HR) to be more ready to face changes in the future.
If it is done, investors will automatically be encouraged to invest and the government's obligation to build the infrastructure will also run by itself. Darmono asserted that smart city development strategy can imitate the way of PT Kawasan Industri Jababeka Tbk (KIJA) when developing tourism area and special economy of Tanjung Lesung.
"It is not possible if the infrastructure is not ready, the toll roads, electricity, water, telecommunications, gas, fiber optics and human resources are not ready yet, so to get to the industrial area (including smart city) to start it needs to start from tourism" he said.
