INDUSTRY.co.id - Kendal - PT Pelindo III (Persero) plans to develop Kendal Port in Wonorejo Village, Kaliwungu District, Kendal District - Central Java. The development project of Kendal Port is estimated to require an investment of around Rp 4 trillion.
To expedite the plan, Pelindo III has partnered with two international companies, namely PT China Communications Construction Engineering Indonesia, a Construction Services and PSA Indonesia Pte Ltd, a port operator that participates in Asia, Europe and America.
The cooperation between Pelindo III and the two companies was conducted to discuss the possibility of establishing a joint venture for the implementation of the Kendal Port development project.
"We invite the cooperation with the two international companies because they already have a well-known reputation internationally and hopefully will increase the market potential so that it can increase the international vessel's visit to conduct operations in Kendal Port," said Pelindo III CEO Ari Askhara in a written statement, Wednesday (6/6/2018).
The scope of cooperation of the three companies is not limited to planning, development, development, operation, investment, financing, but also can provide input on port development plans such as environmental studies, planning studies, geotechnical studies, regional development studies, layout design and technical ports, operational design, market potential analysis and project feasibility.
Ari explained that the development of Kendal Port is the initiation of Pelindo III with the Government of Kendal Regency to support the flow of goods logistics in Central Java Province as well as to anticipate and accommodate the Terminal service projected in 2021 to exceed its capacity.
"Kendal Port will be an attractive feature for investors to invest in Kendal Industrial Estate (KIK) that is being built by the government because the integrated port facility in an industrial area can increase the effectiveness and efficiency of the distribution of production goods so that it can increase economic benefits , not only for the citizens of Kendal, but also logistics stakeholders in Kendal Port hinterland, namely the Central Java (Central Java) and surrounding industries, "explained Ari.
