INDUSTRY.co.id - Jakarta- Minister of Manpower (Menaker) M. Hanif Dhakiri said human resource investment (HR) is the key to the success of the company's business.

Therefore, he asked companies in Indonesia to invest human resources to strengthen the company's business.

He said through a press release received in Jakarta, Saturday (06/23/2018) most companies still consider human resource investment as a burden whereas human resource investment is the key to the sustainability and progress of the company's business.

"Human resource investment and industrial development must be parallel, and human capital investments should be encouraged and our employment ecosystems must be improved so that people and companies work," said Hanif.

He added, in European countries, about 70 percent of human resource investment is done by the business world. Human resources investments must be led by the business world, such as developed countries in Europe.

"Human resource investment can not be entirely left to the government, and in Europe the role of the private sector in human resource investment is enormous, the government only leading and guarding," said Hanif.

HR must be the foundation of the Indonesian nation to progress, develop, and become a prosperous and just state. We can not continue to rely on SDA because the natural resources will be exhausted and can cause intergenerational injustice.

He said that human resource investment is the key so that the country can grow rapidly and able to compete, "said Minister.

Therefore, the government affirms its commitment to investing human resources from 2018 onwards. For that starting 2019 President Jokowi added the budget for vocational training in Ministry of Manpower.

One of the quickest ways of human resource investment, Hanif said is through vocational education and apprenticeship.

Hanif said that vocational training can be a breakthrough in order that trained competencies can adjust changes in industry character.

"Apprenticeship is a much cheaper investment than recruiting new, less experienced workers," Hanif said.

He said HR and the business world must run in a balanced and mutually supportive. Especially in an era that is changing very fast like today, human resources must be prepared carefully to face change.

"Innovation is so important that workers can keep up with the times," said Hanif.

Thus, he added, the participation of the business world is very important to prepare human resources that are ready to change the times.
