Dominated by Mining Sector, Growth of Industrial Area Outside Java Island Increased

INDUSTRY.co.id - Jakarta - Some industrial areas that are located outside of Java island increasing its growth. This is further strengthened with the preparation of several areas of several industrial areas by the Association of Industrial Zones (HKI) outside Java.
Chairman of the Association of Industrial Zones (HKI) Sanny Iskandar said the majority of industrial areas outside Java Island is an industry engaged in the mining sector.
"Perhaps because some nickel-based industries, smelter manufacturing and others are growing," Sanny said on the sidelines of Halal Bihalal and the commemoration of HKI's 30th anniversary in Jakarta on Thursday (28/6/2018).
Sunny revealed, HKI is currently doing various preparations to develop 10 to 15 industrial areas outside of Java.
Meanwhile, there are now as many as 86 industrial estates scattered in Java and outside Java is under construction and construction.
"Some of the plans to be built are in Jambi, Takalar in South Sulawesi, Kuala Tanjung, which is included in the planning, we hope other areas, East Kalimantan and Papua can catch up," Sanny said.
Meanwhile, Minister of Industry of Airlangga Hartarto revealed that currently the development of industrial estates has increased in terms of number and extent.
"In terms of quantity, there is an increase of 17.5% from 74 industrial estates in 2014 to 87 industrial estates in 2017. While from the broad side increased by 64.6% from 36,000 hectares to 59,700 hectares," said Airlangga Minister.
According to the region, said Minister Airlangga, industrial estates outside Java have increased from 28.01% to 42.42% by 2017.
"Although in terms of number of increase is still happening in Java, but because outside Java the availability of land is still relatively wide, so the increase in percentage of area outside Java is higher than in Java," he said.
Menperin convey, until the end of 2017 there are 21 recommendations of industrial estates that have been issued by the Ministry of Industry with a total land area of 13,155 hectares.
