This measures of harmony is accomplished to ensure that the supplier have complied with the sustainability principles of SSMS and its affiliated downstream company, PT CBU.
Meanwhile, the Chief Executive Officer of CBU, Ballakhrisnan Naidu, explained, CBU owns a tight policy to all of its suppliers in recording supply chain process till its delivery to consumers (traceability process). This step is implemented to mitigate risks and ensure its product safety guarantees to all of the company’s consumers. It is in accordance with the investment criteria that is expected by the CBU business partners.
The DTFAS’ goal helps the company in reviewing the performance sustainability issues of PT SYK and PT SML is to harmonize both companies with the ‘Sustainability Principles’ which is arranged through the SSMS Sustainability Road Map that had been prepared in August 2017. This is the goal of SSMS so that all suppliers comply with the policies and meet the criteria for the Company Sustainability.
DTFAS has reviewed the SSMS Sustainability Road Map and provided at least four opinions. First, updating the ‘NDPE map’ that is relevant to the main suppliers. Second, tracking progress and solutions that are related to stakeholder issues. Third, providing external communication to stakeholders on the work progress with suppliers. Forth, integrating supplier performance in the SSMS Supply Chain Traceability Management System.
The Sustainability Road Map provides each step of implementation process and schedules to change sustainability activities of main supplier. Nasarudin also mentioned, SSMS owns a commitment to update its Sustainability Roadmap periodically, and always informs the stakeholders regarding its progress.
“Besides, SSMS has commited to involved with the Tier-1 global seller and the traders of CPO as well as its derivatives,” Nasarudin added. (Abraham Sihombing)
