President Jokowi Inaugurates Soedirman National Defense Central Hospital
INDUSTRY.co.id - President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo Monday (02/19) officially inaugurated the National Defense Central Hospital and 20 other national defense hospitals, at the Soedirman National Defense Central Hospital, Bintaro, Jakarta.
“By saying bismillahirrahmanirrahim, this morning I hereby inaugurated the National Defense Central Hospital and 20 other national defense hospitals,” the President said in his remarks.
On that occasion, the President expressed appreciation for the establishment of the healthcare facility.
He underlined the significance of having comprehensive healthcare facilities and skilled human resources in addressing health emergencies like the COVID-19 pandemic.
“The COVID-19 pandemic has highlighted the crucial need for comprehensive healthcare facilities and well-prepared medical personnel to address health emergencies effectively. In light of this, I deeply appreciate and commend the establishment of the Soedirman National Defense Central Hospital (PPN Hospital) and the 25 hospitals initiated by Ministry of Defense,” he said.
Prior to the inauguration of the Soedirman Hospital, President Jokowi inspected the hospital’s facilities and equipment and conveyed that the facilities at the Soedirman Hospital are not only comprehensive but also highly advanced and modern.
“For instance, I observed the MRI (magnetic resonance imaging) machine, which is the top-of-the-line Tesla 3 model capable of providing comprehensive imaging from various angles. Similarly, the CT Scan machine offers versatile imaging capabilities. Additionally, the operating room features integrated modular technology, showcasing remarkable sophistication. Nevertheless, our foremost desire is for everyone’s well-being and good health,” he explained.
Moreover, the President also revealed that the construction of the hospital boasts a domestic component level of up to 70 percent. He expressed belief that this represents a significant stride towards bolstering the development of the national industry and expediting the country’s economic recovery.
“I hope that with these state-of-the-art facilities and equipment, the National Defense Hospital can serve as a benchmark for Ministry of Defense, the Indonesian National Defense Forces (TNI), and the general public to access top-notch healthcare services. It should also function as a teaching hospital for the Faculty of Medicine at the Defense University. Also, it’s crucial that this hospital stands ready to serve as a disaster response center whenever the need arises” he added.
For the record, the National Defense Soedirman Hospital building spans 28 floors, covering an area of 62 thousand square meters, situated on 2.2 hectares of land. This healthcare facility boasts a capacity of 1,000 inpatient beds, 55 emergency department (IGD) beds, 11 operating rooms, and 90 intensive care rooms, including units for intensive care (ICU), intensive cardiology care (ICCU), respiratory intensive care (RICU), pediatric intensive care (PICU), and neonatal intensive care (NICU).
