Government Confirms Will Not Increase Basic Electricity Tariff

INDUSTRY.co.id - Padang - Deputy Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) Arcandra Tahar confirmed the government will not raise electricity tariffs. This is in order to clarify information circulating in the community that there has been an increase in prices.

"For subscribers with 450 VA of subsidies still given and in 2018 will remain the same," said Arcandra in Padang, Thursday (7/9/2017).

However, for 900 VA subscribers who are still subsidized, not all are entitled to get assistance because it is done data collection.

"After getting the number of who are eligible to get subsidies, which are not entitled subsidinya slowly revoked three levels, not electricity raised," he said.

Arcandra ensures there is no intention of the government to raise the price of electricity to date. According to him the removal of subsidies for the unauthorized is an effort to realize the energy of justice.

"The government continues to strive for the people to enjoy electricity at an affordable price," he continued.
